[ MONTHLY BOOKKEEPING PACKAGES ]

Your books are a mess. You don't have time to fix them. Let's change that.

Bookkeeping handled - so it's off your plate for good.

Built for compliance. Built for confidence. Built for you.

You didn't start a business to become a bookkeeper. Between running things day to day and chasing the next sale, bookkeeping is the thing that always falls to the bottom of the list. Receipts pile up, categories get guessed at, and before you know it months have gone by and you have no real idea where things stand.

These packages take it off your plate completely — not "here's a tool to help you stay organized," but actually done, every month, so you can stop thinking about it.

[ HERE'S HOW IT WORKS ]

Send your stuff to Kelly — receipts, statements, whatever you've got, however messy. Kelly does the rest. You don't need to learn QuickBooks, understand debits and credits, hunt down government filing deadlines, or spend your evenings sorting transactions. That's the job. Kelly's got it

These packages work as a partnership. Kelly J Bookkeeping files. You remit. Both parts are required for the obligation to be met. Kelly J Bookkeeping provides outside bookkeeping support - not internal operations. These packages do not include collecting your accounts receivable, paying your vendors, or managing your day-to-day administrative tasks. The system works when both sides show up.

[ Monthly Bookkeeeping - frequently Asked Questions ]

What makes Kelly J Bookkeeping different from other bookkeepers?

You run the business. Kelly runs the books — monitoring and managing while you handle the day-to-day. Kelly works directly with your accountant, monitors the AI and automation in your bookkeeping software for errors, and keeps you updated on your business deadlines (GST/HST, BC PST, EHT, WCB). Files are secure, access is managed, and everything's Canadian-based.

Does Kelly work inside my business or from the outside?

From the outside. Kelly J Bookkeeping provides outside bookkeeping support — not internal operations. These packages do not include collecting your accounts receivable, paying your vendors, or managing your day-to-day administrative tasks. What Kelly does is build and maintain the bookkeeping foundation that keeps your compliance obligations protected.

How does the monthly bookkeeping process actually work?

Each month, you send over your receipts, statements, and any documents needed — however organized or messy they are. Kelly posts and categorizes the transactions, reconciles your bank and credit card accounts, and monitors the file for errors or inconsistencies as they come up. You'll get a quarterly review call to go over where things stand, plus reminders ahead of key CRA and filing deadlines. If anything needs your input along the way — a receipt, a clarification, a decision — Kelly will reach out directly.

What if my bookkeeping has already fallen behind?

That's more common than most business owners realize. Before ongoing monthly bookkeeping support begins, a cleanup or catch-up project is usually required to rebuild a stable foundation. There's no point putting a monthly support structure on top of a bookkeeping system that isn't working — it just preserves the problem. Once the foundation is clean and stable, the right monthly package can be put in place.

How do I know which package is right for my business?

The right package depends on the complexity of your business and how much of the compliance work you want managed for you — not on how many transactions you have per month. Each package has an "Is this the right fit?" section that describes the business situation it's designed for. Read through them and you'll likely recognize yourself in one of them. If you're not sure, book a consultation call — that's what it's for.

What happens when I first sign up?

Every new client begins with a setup call to review your existing bookkeeping system, current records, compliance obligations, and any areas that need attention before ongoing work begins. Understanding your setup before touching anything is how we make sure the work gets done right from the start.

Am I still responsible for my compliance obligations even with a bookkeeper?

Yes — always. A bookkeeper is not a tax advisor, accountant, or CPA. Your compliance obligations remain yours as the business owner. What Kelly does is build and maintain the foundation that makes sure you're ready to meet them — and in the Foundation & Compliance and Foundation, Compliance & Systems packages, manages the filing work on your behalf. Kelly files. You remit the payment. The obligation is managed and met together.

Do you work with my accountant at year-end?

Yes. Kelly regularly works alongside external accountants and CPAs. Year-end preparation includes organized, reconciled bookkeeping records and supporting documentation so your accountant can complete the corporate tax return efficiently — without spending billable hours hunting for documents. A well-maintained bookkeeping foundation typically reduces accounting time at year-end.

Can bookkeeping problems build up quietly without me noticing?

Yes — and this is extremely common. Incorrect coding, unreconciled accounts, workflow inconsistencies, sales tax errors, or integration problems may not become obvious until a GST filing, year-end preparation, or accountant review surfaces them — sometimes months later. Ongoing bookkeeping oversight exists specifically to catch these issues early, before they become larger cleanup or reconstruction projects.

What if automation or AI tools in my bookkeeping software are wrong?

Automation and AI tools can be helpful but they still require monitoring. Incorrect bank rules, software updates, integration issues, or changing workflows can create bookkeeping inconsistencies over time if they're not reviewed properly. The software is the tool. The underlying bookkeeping records and financial statements are the foundation. Part of ongoing bookkeeping oversight is making sure the automation is working correctly.

How involved do I still need to be in my bookkeeping?

More involved than most people expect — but not in the way most people think. You are not responsible for understanding bookkeeping. You are responsible for providing source documents, responding when information is needed, and making the business decisions that affect the numbers. The bookkeeping foundation is Kelly's responsibility. The business behind it is yours.

What does accountant-ready bookkeeping actually mean?

It means your bookkeeping records are organized, reconciled, and structured so your accountant can complete your year-end or corporate tax work efficiently — without having to fix the books before they can start on the return. Accountant-ready bookkeeping typically means lower accounting bills, fewer year-end surprises, and a cleaner corporate tax filing.

What if I'm overwhelmed and don't even know where to start?

That's completely normal and it's the most common reason people reach out. The first step is simply a conversation. Book a consultation call, describe where things stand, and we'll figure out together whether the business needs ongoing oversight, active compliance support, a cleanup project, or something else entirely. You don't need to have it figured out before you call.

How do I know if the AI working in the background in my bookkeeping file is doing what it's supposed to do?

Most bookkeeping software now uses automation and AI to categorize transactions, apply bank rules, and match records — but it doesn't always get it right. Incorrect categorizations, misapplied rules, and integration errors can build up quietly in the background without triggering any obvious warnings. The only way to know your file is accurate is to review it — and knowing what to look for is the key.

If you'd like to learn how to check your own file, we offer one-on-one training sessions where we walk through exactly how to use your reports and bank reconciliations, and ledger reports to spot errors, verify the automation is working correctly, and catch problems before they become bigger issues.

Third-Party Software & App Integrations Third-party applications, integrations, POS systems, ecommerce platforms, inventory systems, and operational workflows vary significantly between businesses. Additional setup, troubleshooting, reconstruction, or support involving complex, unfamiliar, or custom-configured systems may require additional review time and is subject to custom pricing outside of the monthly package.
